Sehnsucht

The Korean word "그리워하다" carries the meaning of deeply loving and longing for someone or something. While it shares a similar meaning with "miss," it is not tied to a specific tense, allowing for the assumption that one can long for something in the future. This artwork portrays yearning for a specific moment that cannot be experienced—a sense of longing for a future that may be unlikely to happen due to certain current events. It might also encompass regret for a past that has already passed.

Longing for the outcomes that can manifest in the future based on current objects or moments.

Can you see what you long for?

You cannot see it, but you can imagine it, much like the process of creating a vague image akin to Midjourney's image-making process."

I created layers by intertwining multiple pieces of fabric to represent an unseen future, which is not clearly visible.
